We’re beginning our store renovation process, so we’re only open Thursday- Saturday, 11am-7pm through June. Please check our Social Media Accounts, Google Maps, or Yelp before planning your visit.

Inventory+ Instore Pricing

If you decide to swing by and visit us in real life please keep in mind that our in-store inventory is different than our website’s. Our website is powered through a larger warehouse that has access to a ton of titles that we may not necessarily carry in the store. With that being said we are not able to get some of the same discounts that the warehouse has so prices in store might be slightly higher than those that you see on our website. Our in-store inventory is also curated and changes on the daily. So if you fall in love with a title on the site and want to come in and pick it up please email us first to see if we have it in stock. You can reach us at books@semicolonchi.com


Online Shopping

I placed my order through your website and have an issue. Can you help me out?

Our online store is powered through our third-party partner BookShop.org. We (the Semicolon brick and mortar staff) do not have access to any of your order information or to their systems so if you have an issue with your order we won't be able to help you out. Please send your inquiries to orders@bookshop.org and they'll be happy to help you out!


someone got me a gift card and I can’t use it on your website, what’s up with that?

Bookshop.org doesn’t accept our gift cards on their platform. You can redeem your gift card here.


It’s been two weeks since I’ve placed my order, when will my books arrive?

Our delivery partners are experiencing extreme delays due to market changes and recent events. We ask that you please allow at least three to six weeks for your order to arrive. We appreciate your patience during this time!


My order is missing items, what’s going on?

If you haven't received your full order, our distributor has an immediate release policy. This means, if you order three books and two are ready for shipping, they will be shipped immediately. The third book will ship once the stock is replenished.


MY book is not available/ back-ordered. Do you have an idea of when it’ll be available?

Your order has been processed through our book distributor. If the book is in stock, it will ship in two- three business days. If not, the distributor has to wait for the book to be replenished. Given the volume (100,000+) of interest in the same books at the same time + COVID19 staffing restrictions on printing companies, fulfillment has been severely delayed. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline on when the books will be replenished as we are not alerted when inventory is restocked.


I called/email/dm’d you and didn’t get a response, what’s taking so long?

We are a mighty but super small team of six. We receive thousands of messages, calls, and emails every single day. We’re doing our best to keep up with the volume of inquiries so please allow us up to 72 hours to respond. Please do not double email us if you haven’t heard back from us. We saw your message and working very hard to help ya out! We appreciate your patience as we navigate doing business during the pandemic.
